🌟 Inspiration Behind the Piece

“Awestruck” captures the raw energy and beauty of a lightning bolt splitting the sky above a calm, glassy ocean. This piece is about power meeting serenity — a moment where nature reveals both its intensity and its wonder. The electric strike reflects across the water, creating a mesmerizing glow that pulls you into the scene. It’s designed to evoke emotion, presence, and the unforgettable feeling of witnessing a storm ignite the horizon.

🎨 Artistic Process

This 24″x16″ panel begins with a hand-brushed metal base, creating a dynamic reflective surface that enhances the movement of the lightning and rolling storm clouds. Layers of translucent pigments are airbrushed and detailed to produce depth, glow, and atmospheric motion unique to Cris X’s signature style. Under shifting light, the metal grain makes the lightning appear alive — brightening, rippling, and transforming throughout the day.

Perfect for modern homes, ocean lovers, storm enthusiasts, offices, meditation rooms, and bold statement spaces. Its cool blue palette complements grays, whites, teals, silvers, and contemporary décor. The reflective metal surface makes it especially striking in rooms with natural or directional lighting.
